The Taste of Home: Local Food in North Idaho directory takes you on a visual tour of small farms, ranches, farm-to-table restaurants, community gardens, farmers markets, food banks, and other food businesses in a ten county region of North Idaho: Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai, Shoshone, Benewah, Latah, Clearwater, Nez Perce, Lewis, and Idaho counties.

In Boundary County, ID, a pilot online farmers market was created using the Open Food Network platform. b-LOCAL Boundary County. While b-local.net is no longer active, it is an example of a year-round online farmers market developed for a specific community.

The Local Farm Food Source connects small farmers with consumers and also to a list of local farm supplies, educational resources, and more! Our mission is to help local farmers on the Palouse thrive. 

Local Farm Food Source is a collaboration between University of Idaho Extension - Latah County, local farmers, and businesses.

Idaho's West Central Mountains Foodshed

The West Central Mountains region stretches from New Meadows in the North to Cascade in the South and fits between the Salmon River mountain range to the east and the West Mountain range to the West. The foodshed includes an even larger radius that provides more diversity of agricultural products grown at lower elevations.

The Western Treasure Valley Food Systems Map is an online directory of local food growers, producers, and related businesses in Payette and Washington counties in Idaho and Malhuer county in Oregon. 

Browse the map by category: producers & suppliers, meat processors, farmers markets & stands, grocers & retailers, food banks & pantries, and community gardens.

The Wood River Valley’s Locally Grown Guide invites you to experience the farms, food businesses and organizations that create the distinctive flavor of our community. Published annually, the free guide connects residents and visitors to high-quality seasonal food produced in the regional foodshed.

The Wood River Valley Locally Grown Guide is a Local Food Alliance publication. The Local Food Alliance is a program of the Sun Valley Institute for Resilience.
